Electricity Markets (M.A.S.)
Illinois Tech鈥檚 Master of Electricity Markets combines courses from graduate programs in electrical engineering and finance to address the changing needs of the electric power industry. Electricity is traded as a commodity in financial markets, which affects the way electric power grids are controlled and operated, and restructuring of electricity delivery brings major changes to the electric power industry,
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Illinois Tech's Stuart School of Business have teamed up to offer graduate-level coursework in electricity suitable for electric power engineers, preparing students to understand both the technical and business side of such changes.
Students courses include power system planning, financial planning, and elements of sustainable energy.

The Master of Electricity Markets combines courses from graduate programs in electrical engineering and in finance and provides graduate-level education in electricity suitable for electric power engineers. A background in finance is not required.
The admission requirements for this degree follow the existing admission requirements for other professional master鈥檚 degrees in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Students whose accredited bachelor鈥檚 degree is not in electrical engineering may pursue this degree, provided that they have an adequate background and can demonstrate proficiency in the material outlined in the course bulletin.
