Sustainable Enterprise (Certificate)
The Master of Science in Sustainability Analytics and Management program at Stuart School of Business offers certificate programs specifically designed for mid-career professionals who want to enhance their professional knowledge with the latest industry-relevant ideas, skills, and tools.
The Certificate in Sustainable Enterprise focuses on the theory and practice of environmental and social sustainability in the business environment, including the intersection of sustainability and innovation in managing a business, strategies and tools of the emerging field of industrial ecology, and an introduction to the rapidly growing field of social entrepreneurship.
Students in this certificate program take three semester-length courses, learning alongside degree-seeking students and benefitting from the same expert faculty and a master鈥檚 degree curriculum that is attuned to leading-edge business practices and technologies.

The Certificate in Sustainable Enterprise allows professionals to gain formal certification in a particular area of expertise and/or learn state-of-the-art skills to further their careers in environmental sustainability and compliance as consultants, entrepreneurs, administrators, and managers who can successfully make the business case for sustainability.
This certificate requires the following three semester-length courses (three credit hours per course; nine credit hours total). Each course meets once a week for 15 weeks.
- Bachelor鈥檚 degree from an accredited institution with a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade-point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
- Three to five years of related work experience
- Depending on previous academic coursework, the applicant may need to take additional prerequisite courses that may not count toward the certificate

Use Your Certificate Credit Toward a Master鈥檚 Degree
Certificate program students who later apply and are admitted to a master鈥檚 degree program at Stuart may apply all approved certificate coursework with a grade of 鈥淏鈥 or higher to a master鈥檚 degree. A certificate is typically equivalent to one-fourth to one-third of the credit hours required for a degree. Students have the option of transferring to the master鈥檚 program in any semester.
