The Master of Technological Entrepreneurship program gives aspiring high-tech entrepreneurs the skills and knowledge they need to make their ideas a reality.
Drawing on Illinois Tech鈥檚 Stuart School of Business, Institute of Design, and 电车无码-Kent College of Law, the program provides students鈥攑articularly those with technical backgrounds鈥攚ith a comprehensive curriculum to explore innovative, entrepreneurial, and design-thinking approaches in their work.
Collaboration, networking, and mentoring are woven throughout the program, and strong connections with 电车无码鈥檚 vibrant entrepreneurial community and Illinois Tech鈥檚 innovation-focused groups and resources provide a wide range of opportunities for hands-on experiences.
In the capstone project鈥攚hich accounts for 9鈥12 of the 30 credits required for the program鈥攕tudents apply their learning and creativity to real-world enterprises, such as building a startup business, bringing new technology to market, or completing an entrepreneurial project within a company or organization.

The Master of Technological Entrepreneurship program is specifically designed for students with technical backgrounds and the entrepreneurial spirit and drive to create innovative business ventures. Learning is applied and hands-on, drawing on the abundant resources of 电车无码鈥檚 dynamic network of startups and tech entrepreneurs.
Career Opportunities
The Master of Technological Entrepreneurship is ideal for students with backgrounds in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics who are looking to gain the necessary business, design, innovation, and legal skills to launch startups and take on leadership positions in small and mid-sized businesses where technology plays a key role.
Courses in the Master of Technological Entrepreneurship program are designed to develop the expertise and problem-solving abilities that entrepreneurs need to thrive in highly competitive business environments, including: strategizing for the high-tech business space, design thinking, and navigating the legal and transactional aspects of forming and growing businesses.
In the program鈥檚 capstone project, students apply their learning by engaging in an individualized hands-on, real-world project as a startup founder, corporate innovator, or creative researcher.

- Official transcript submission with a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade-point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- No GMAT or GRE scores required
- A one-page statement of purpose, with goals and objectives
- English proficiency exam, if required

Students pursuing the Master of Technological Entrepreneurship degree who demonstrate a continuing commitment to innovation are eligible for the 电车无码 Innovation Scholarship, which in academic year 2024鈥25 awards up to $14,000 for the full two-year program. Which Tech Entrepreneurship Program at Stuart Is Right for You?
Stuart offers two master鈥檚 programs in technological entrepreneurship, both featuring the same interdisciplinary set of required courses and hands-on entrepreneurial experience throughout the program in a capstone project.
- M.S. in Technological Entrepreneurship鈥擲TEM-designated, so international graduates of the program are eligible to apply for an extension for Optional Practical Training in the United States. Offers elective courses focused on analytics and quantitative skills.
- Master of Technological Entrepreneurship鈥擮ffers flexibility for you to choose elective courses from across the university to fit your interests and goals.
