Experience 

Daniel Krieglstein is a Behavioral Designer and Scientist. His work involves the application of
psychological principles to technology development and brand messaging. His experience spans clinical,
research, teaching, administrative, and technology development. In short, he loves developing
hypotheses from noisy, confusing datasets; and allowing consumer behaviors to drive design choice.
Predicting the final consumer's behavior should not be an expensive guess.

Daniel has held executive positions as both Director of Behavioral Design and as CEO of his own grant
funded startup. He currently consults through a research and design firm (Live Neuron Labs) and a
digital media company (Determined). Contracts have included the American Heart Association,
Northwestern University, leading luxury auto manufactures, and a U.S. electric utility.

Daniel earned his Ph.D. in Psychology from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Having completed clinical
training, he resolved to turn his grant funded dissertation into a database company. This began his
transition from clinician to a technologist. Since formally ending his clinical work with cancer patients,
Daniel has been working with digital technologies as both a researcher and consultant for over a decade.
He has been a pioneer in user-communication-as-experimentation for product development and brand
messaging. This research has been presented at the annual Association for Behavioral and Cognitive
Therapies conferences, in addition to the International Society for Universal Dialogue.

Daniel taught in IIT's Psychology program for eight years and in Northeastern Illinois University's
Psychology program for two years. He has been teaching internet coding and behavioral design in IIT’s
Information Technology and Management program since 2015. He is a board member for the
International Society for Universal Dialogue. Additionally, he is a Peer Reviewer for the Journal of Clinical
Psychology, a Senior Editor on Wikipedia, novice coder, and avid gamer.
