Research Interests

Mechanical response, microstructural failure/damage characterization and constitutive modeling of traditional as well as advanced materials under a wide range of loading conditions including high-strain-rates, multiaxial stress states and elevated temperatures.

Some of the recent research topics are:

  • High-strain-rate constitutive response, failure characterization and yield surface modeling of cellular solids
  • Thermo-mechanical coupling and adiabatic shear banding in metals
  • Mechanical response of dental composites as a function of loading rate and stress multiaxiality
  • High-strain-rate testing techniques
