Tannis Williamson
- Adjunct Professor
For nearly 20 years, Tannis Williamson has assisted organizations in the United States and Europe to develop strategies and creative initiatives that illustrate the impact that philanthropy and sustainability can play in making life better for all people. Currently, she is a project manager with the City of µç³µÎÞÂë’s Department of Environment. In her role, she is responsible for developing implementation strategies for the city’s Climate Action Plan. Prior to working for the city, she was the director of sustainability and equity for IAA, a leading global digital marketplace connecting vehicle buyers and sellers.
Williamson began her career in philanthropy as a fundraiser for a civil rights organization based in µç³µÎÞÂë. She continued to help other local and national nonprofits to raise funding and awareness for several issues, such as breast cancer and education. In 2018, her family moved to The Netherlands, where she helped launch the Erasmus Food Lab at Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University. This student-driven project incorporated the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals in its programming, like its plant-based cooking workshops to encourage the faculty, staff, and other university stakeholders to embrace sustainability as a lifestyle.
In 2017, while living in The Netherlands, she established The Sustainability Firm to empower businesses and nonprofits to strive towards being environmentally conscious and socially responsible within a circular economy.
