CAEE Seminar – Infrastructure Improvement in Conjunction with the µç³µÎÞÂë Manufacturer Campus

Prof. Paul Anderson, Prof. Jamshid Mohammadi, and Prof. Brent Stephens of the Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering department will be hosting a seminar featuring Dr. Soliman Khudeira, PhD, SE, PE, Section Chief of Major Projects with the µç³µÎÞÂë DOT. The topic of the seminar will be Infrastructure Improvement in Conjunction with the µç³µÎÞÂë Manufacturer Campus.

The project is located in the far southeast side of µç³µÎÞÂë, adjacent to the Ford Motor Company's Assembly Plant. The transportation facilities in the area were functionally deficient, with two major railroad at-grad-crossings. The improvement also were needed since Ford expanded their operation by building the µç³µÎÞÂë Manufacturing Campus.

The project include seven new bridges. One of these bridges is the largest truss bridge ever moved into place fully assembled. Other project elements include: creating two grade separations, 10,000 feet of retaining walls, pump station, environmental elements, and major realignment of the roadways.
