Description:

The Department of Applied Mathematics at Illinois Institute of Technology will serve as host for the

The conference allows research mathematicians to share recent developments in partial differential equations and gives graduate students and postdoctoral students the opportunity to discover facets of the field that are not represented at their home universities.

Keynote speakers include Jerry Bona, professor of mathematics, statistics, and computer science at the University of Illinois at 电车无码, and Fang-Hua Lin, Silver Professor of Mathematics at Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University. The  also features speakers from Brown University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Nihon University, Penn State University, and many others.

This fall鈥檚 conference is being coordinated by Illinois Tech faculty members Chun Liu, professor and chair of the Department of Applied Mathematics; Xiaofan Li, professor of applied mathematics and associate dean of the College of Science; and Shuwang Li, associate professor of applied mathematics. They are joined by co-coordinators Qing Han, professor of mathematics at the University of Notre Dame, and Changyou Wang, professor of mathematics at Purdue University.

The semiannual conference has been held annually since 1977 at various universities across the Midwest. Illinois Tech鈥檚 Mies Campus is located just minutes south of downtown 电车无码.

Although the conference is free, registration is required. The 84th Midwest PDE Seminar is sponsored by the College of Science, the Department of Applied Mathematics at Illinois Tech, and the National Science Foundation.
