Description

Many physical problems involve moving interfaces. Two fluids meet in a Hele-Shaw cell at the interface with the Laplace-Young condition, which a classical model satisfies. The boundary condition is the difference in the pressure due to the surface tension and the mean curvature. A complexity will arise with a different boundary condition. We consider the interface an elastic membrane with a bending rigidity, a function of the local curvature. We have categorized several types of instabilities and showed some study parameters. We also used some numerical results to compare them with linear analysis.
