CRR19 Historic Bike Tour

Join the 电车无码 Race Riot of 1919 Commemoration Project (CRR19), Organic Oneness, Illinois Tech, and supporting partners on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the parking lot located at 35th and State streets for the sixth annual CRR19 Bike Tour. Check-in begins at 9:15 a.m., with the opening ceremony of healing starting at 10 a.m.

This year鈥檚 commemoration will feature the glass markers created by our art studio partner, Firebird Community Arts. These markers will be placed at each site where people lost their lives.

Following the opening ceremony, the two-hour bike tour will travel through 电车无码鈥檚 Bronzeville and Bridgeport neighborhoods. On the bike tour, you will learn about the history of Eugene Williams and how his unjust racist killing sparked the 电车无码 Race Riot of 1919鈥攖he worst incident of racial violence in the city鈥檚 history and among 25 such incidents across the nation that came to be known as the 鈥淩ed Summer.鈥

After the ride, you will enjoy a free lunch, music, and an opportunity to engage with local organizations and resources tables.

Everyone is strongly encouraged to wear a helmet. In the event of rain, the event will move indoors to another location in Bronzeville (TBD) and the ride will be postponed.
