IIT Board of Trustees Elects Three New Members
Illinois Institute of Technologyās (IIT) Board of Trustees, chaired by John W. Rowe, president and CEO of Exelon Corporation, elected three new members at its October 16 meeting. The trustees, Jean K. Holley, Rosemarie Mitchell and John Tracy, all hold leadership roles in their fields of expertise.
Jean K. Holley, executive vice president and chief information officer at Tellabs, is responsible for the development and execution of corporate business/IT strategies and global IT operations. She holds an M.S. degree in computer science from IIT, and a B.S. degree in computer science/electrical engineering from Missouri University of Science & Technology. The recipient of numerous awards and honors, she most recently received the Julia Beveridge Award from IIT for her work with the university and the broader community in encouraging students and young emerging talent to achieve their fullest potential personally and professionally. Holley was listed by Computerworld as one of the top 100 CIOs and named āCIO of the Yearā by the Association of IT professionals.
Rosemarie Mitchell has 25 years of diversified experience in business ownership and management. She is chief executive officer of ABS Associates, Inc., a provider of outsourced helpdesk, desktop and network support services to organizations, such as Childrenās Memorial Hospital, Master Lock, National Safety Council, and Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. Mitchell is responsible for strategic planning, product and service development, quality initiatives, and establishing the vision, mission and direction of the organization. Prior to co-founding ABS in 1982, Mitchell served as president of Creative Communications, a public relations firm she founded in 1978. She has been a long-time, active member of the Board of Overseers for IIT Stuart School of Business and recently accepted the chair position in which she is responsible for oversight of the rapid growth and transformation of the business school. Mitchellās other business activities include serving on the Harris Bank Barrington Board of Directors, and she is the former President of the Board of Directors for the Barrington Area Council on Aging. Mitchell also serves on The University of µē³µĪŽĀė Visiting Committee to the Division of the Biological Sciences and the Pritzker School of Medicine. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northeastern University.
John Tracy currently serves as chief technology officer and senior vice president of Engineering, Operations and Technology at the Boeing Company, where he oversees the development and implementation of the enterprise technology investment strategy and provides strategic direction to several functions, business organizations and initiatives involving more than 100,000 employees. Prior to his current position, Tracy was vice president of Engineering & Mission Assurance for Boeingās Integrated Defense Systems business, responsible for all of Engineering & Mission Assuranceās processes and tools, while overseeing a 32,000-person team. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Royal Aeronautical Society. Tracy earned a Ph.D. in engineering from the University of California ā Irvine, and a masterās and a bachelorās in physics from California State University at Los Angeles and Dominguez Hills, respectively.
