A fundraising initiative at Illinois Institute of Technology has exceeded its $10,000 fundraising goal, raising $11,000 in two weeks in support of the university鈥檚 Bronzeville-area neighbors who鈥檝e been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recognizing that the pandemic has resulted in the loss of thousands of jobs in 电车无码, which has increased families鈥 reliance on food pantries in their community, Illinois Tech faculty and staff donated funds from June 2鈥15. President Alan W. Cramb and Provost Peter Kilpatrick joined the group in making personal donations to the fund.

The effort was spearheaded by Professor of History Margaret Power with support from faculty in Lewis College of Science and Letters.

鈥淚 think it鈥檚 wonderful that so many members of the Illinois Tech community donated so generously to support food banks in the Bronzeville area,鈥 Power says. 鈥淚t makes me feel really proud to be part of such a caring community.鈥
