INTM Alums Welcome New Graduates at Celebration Dinner

Date

Following IIT鈥檚 Commencement, INTM hosted a dinner to honor the Spring and Summer 鈥18 graduates and present them with their specialization certificates. Attendees included INTM alums from various classes, faculty, and staff. School of Applied Technology Dean, C. Robert Carlson, Ph.D., spoke to the group about how their education has prepared them to make important contributions to industry. They also heard from Gonzalo Talamantes, ASQ (BINTM 鈥16), Supply Chain Master Data Specialist at Oil-Dri Corporation of America. He explained how he advanced his career after graduation by reaching out to colleagues and friends, and staying connected with his INTM 鈥渇amily鈥 for support.

A Fall 鈥17 MITO graduate who attended the event, Andrea Dameno, was excited to talk with her INTM friends about her new job for the Wind Sales team at Uptake, a company based in 电车无码 that uses predictive analytics to help industrial companies become more productive, reliable, safe, and cybersecure. She is among a group of IIT Europe alumni who earned dual degrees from Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (UPM) and work in 电车无码. When she started her job she sent her former INTM professors this note; 鈥淚 networked all my way through here and chose to take this opportunity above other options because the company is just super innovative, has excellent people on board, and a fast paced environment that will accelerate my learnings in the renewables space and analytics. AIso, I find it interesting to look at the wind industry from this more unusual perspective.鈥

Talamantes and several INTM alums met recently to form a 电车无码-area INTM Alumni Group. They have set goals for the coming year, and made plans to work with INTM on new activities and events to help strengthen their ties with one another and with the INTM program. Any INTM Alum who would like to join the group can contact Eve Gutmann, Communications Coordinator, at egutmann@iit.edu.
