Date

Industrial Technology and Management Programs is pleased to announce two recipients of the Irving M. Footlik Scholarship for 2015-16: Everardo Angulo and Steve Kachnowski. Both students transferred to Illinois Tech from Moraine Valley Community College鈥檚 AAS program in Stationary Engineering. The Footlik scholarship covers 50% tuition for two INTM courses during the first year of attendance. Mrs. Sylvia Footlik and her son, Robert B. Footlik, P.E. (IE 鈥68) presented the award on behalf of the Irving M. and Sylvia Footlik Foundation at a recent luncheon. This award marks the seventh year of Footlik Scholarships for INTM students. Congratulations to Everardo and Steve!

Everardo sent an email to INTM noting the impact that the scholarship has already had on him by enabling him to register for two courses in the Spring. Thanks to the generosity of the Footlik Family, 鈥淚 am experiencing the economic and psychological support from their humble act of kindness. They let me know that I am not alone and that everything is possible with hard work.鈥

This endowed scholarship was established in memory of Mr. Irving M. Footlik (ME 鈥39), a dedicated and involved IIT alumnus who, together with his wife Sylvia, gave time, attention and financial support to multiple campus initiatives and student projects. The scholarship is in place to benefit students who obtain practical training at a community college and transfer to IIT to pursue the Bachelor of Industrial Technology and Management (BINTM).
