LEADING CHICAGO EXECUTIVES NAMED TO IIT BOARD

Two prominent µç³µÎÞÂë business executives today were elected to the Board of Trustees at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT).

Named to the board are Byrne Mulrooney, µç³µÎÞÂë, Ill., President of the Midwest Region, Operations Solutions for Electronic Data Systems Corporation; and John A. Wing, Evanston, Ill., retired chairman of the board and CEO of ABN AMRO Inc., (formerly The µç³µÎÞÂë Corporation). Wing had previously served on the IIT board from 1990-1998.

In the U.S. Midwest region, Mulrooney oversees strategic marketing, sales, business development, profit and loss and client relationships for Operations Solutions, a more than $14 billion EDS operation globally, specializing in hosting services and financial processing management. Previously, he was vice president of the company’s Portfolio Management, Information Solutions, leading a worldwide global service development team.

He is a member of the Economic Club of µç³µÎÞÂë, the board of directors for The Executives’ Club of µç³µÎÞÂë, the board of directors for the µç³µÎÞÂë Boys and Girls Clubs, and the board of trustees for the µç³µÎÞÂë Symphony Orchestra.

Mulrooney earned his master’s degree in management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Villanova University.

Wing joined The µç³µÎÞÂë Corporation as its CEO in 1981. He continued to lead the firm following the merger with ABN AMRO in January 1997. He is currently a director of the Acorn Fund Trust, µç³µÎÞÂë, Labe Bank & LDF, Inc., µç³µÎÞÂë, and Margo Caribe Inc., San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is also chairman of the Center for Law and Financial Markets at IIT. The CLFM offers highly focused, interdisciplinary graduate study programs in the financial markets and related law.

Wing began his career in 1960 with the Securities and Exchange Commission as a financial analyst and later as a trial attorney. He moved to µç³µÎÞÂë in 1968 to join A.G. Becker & Company as vice president and general counsel.

Wing’s memberships have included the µç³µÎÞÂë Mercantile Exchange’s special panel to review trading rules and practices, director of µç³µÎÞÂë Capital Fund, National Association of Securities Dealers and the National Futures Association.

Wing holds a bachelor’s degree from Union College, Schenectady, N.Y. and a doctorate degree from George Washington University Law School.
