Psychology Professor Roya Ayman Named a Fellow of the American Psychological Association
Roya Ayman, a professor of psychology at Illinois Institute of Technology, has been named a fellow of the (APA), a prominent scientific and professional organization for individuals in the field of psychology. The fellowship is an honor recognizing Ayman鈥檚 significant research contributions to the field. Per the APA website, 鈥淔ellow status requires that a person's work has had a national impact on the field of psychology beyond a local, state, or regional level.鈥
鈥淲hile we as scientist-practitioners love what we do for its own sake, it is an honor to get feedback that others value the work,鈥 Ayman says of being named a fellow. 鈥淚 hope this is of value to our department to have faculty with this national recognition.鈥
Ayman is a longtime member of the psychology faculty at Illinois Tech. For many years her research has focused on leadership and culture, as well as gender in the workplace. She runs both the Leadership Research Lab and Work-Family Interface Lab at Illinois Tech.
In 2019 Ayman was named a fellow of the (SIOP), a lifetime designation awarded to individuals active in the society for at least 10 years who have also made a significant impact through their research. SIOP is an independent organization that also makes up one division of the APA.
