Research from Associate Professor Brent Stephens’ Lab Makes Big Impact at Engineering Sustainability 2017
Associate Professor of Architectural Engineering presented his lecture “Indoor Exposures to Outdoor Air Pollution” as a plenary presentation at Engineering Sustainability 2017: Innovation and the Triple Bottom Line. The biennial conference brings together engineers and scientists from academia, government, industry, and nonprofits to share results of cutting-edge research and practice directed at development of environmentally sustainable buildings and infrastructure.
Professor Stephens and the research conducted in his lab made a big impact on the conference as two of his Ph.D. students also presented their work. Recent Alumnus Parham Azimi (Ph.D., ENVE ‘16) presented “Development and Application of a Complex Infection Transmission Model for Predicting Influenza Exposures in Indoor Environments.” Current student, Torkan Fazil (Ph.D Candidate, CE), also presented her work, “Development of a Nationally Representative Set of Combined Building Energy and Indoor Air Quality Models for U.S. Residences.”
