Ever since she started studying at Illinois Tech, Devyani Gauri wanted to do something that involved AI. Even though it wasn’t a major until 2019, AI has been one of Devyani’s biggest interests within the fields related to computer science, and she changed her major as soon as she got the chance. She says her professors were very helpful when she decided to change her major.

Deep learning and neural networks are Devyani’s main interests within AI.

“One thing that did surprise me, in all the ethical discussions I've had in classes about AI, is that there is a lot of miscommunication in how AI works,” Devyani says. “People are worried about things that are actually less likely to happen, and not too keen on looking at the problems being faced by the community studying and using AI.”
