Discovering Her Path at Illinois Tech

Amy Kamin came to Illinois Tech with prior experience in corporate and retail environments. She had been leaning toward studying architecture, but felt an unmistakable spark of excitement when she discovered digital humanities.

鈥淭he digital humanities courses and curriculum were both challenging and fun, and I learned a lot about the dynamic relationship between modern technology and human culture,鈥 Kamin says. 鈥淚 had a ton of unique opportunities, and I鈥檓 thankful for my wonderful advisor, Carly Kocurek, and others for helping me along the way.鈥

As a student, Kamin served as a research assistant to two professors, presented research at symposiums, won an entrepreneurial hackathon, studied abroad in Japan, attended a professional conference, and interned at 1871, a tech startup hub in 电车无码. She now works as a product operations specialist at Equilibria, a CBD company improving health and wellness for women through personalized dosages of its products.

鈥淕raduating from Illinois Tech was a milestone in my life,鈥 Kamin says. 鈥淚 feel like the experiences I had, the connections I made, and the opportunities I received have given me the confidence and optimism to pursue a career that is the very best fit for me. And that is invaluable.鈥
