The Pre-Medical Advisory Committee is here to help you navigate your pre-health/pre-med journey, from your initial interest in our pathways to getting into the medical or health professional school of your dreams!
Once you鈥檝e expressed interest in our pathways, our Pre-Medical Advisory Committee will reach out to you to begin advising you on topics such as major selection, what courses to take, outside-the-classroom opportunities, and much more. And your adviser will be with you throughout your time at Illinois Tech and until you get into medical or health professional school.
The Pre-Medical Advisory Committee is made up of dedicated faculty and advisers, and they will provide their expertise so that they can help as you choose your courses, as you navigate your time at Illinois Tech, and to help you connect with opportunities on campus and off that will assist you as you build your network and get real-world experience.
Your adviser will also help you with the medical and health professional school admission process, including:
- Preparing for the Medical College Admission Test, or MCAT, in the third year of your undergraduate study
- Collecting letters of recommendation
- Forwarding applications to medical schools designated by students
