Who Is an International Student?
International students are those who are neither United States citizens nor U.S. permanent residents, regardless of where they are currently living or attending school. This means that U.S. citizens living abroad or in military or diplomatic zones are not considered international students. Foreign nationals attending school in the United States are considered international students.
How to Apply?
Please see application requirements based on student type below:
- International First-Year Students (Freshmen) — students who have not enrolled in post-secondary education after completion from secondary school/high school
- International Transfer Students — students who have begun study in a post-secondary institution. This does not include students who have taken post-secondary credits while enrolled in your high school/secondary school program
- Conditional English Students — who are interested in attending Illinois Tech, and who meet academic requirements but do not meet the minimum English proficiency test requirements and wish to study at our Intensive English Program on campus.
- International Visiting and Exchange Students — for students who are enrolled as a full-time student overseas and are interested in spending a semester or a year at Illinois Tech.
