The Scarlet C-Suite Program is a comprehensive, yearlong program, offered by Career Services. The purpose of the program is to elevate students’ career readiness and success, during and beyond Illinois Tech. It consists of six pillars, including professional development workshops, career coaching, volunteer and project experience, finalized career profiles, and a concluding questionnaire.

Students can work at their own pace, completing these courses in one school year, or throughout their time at Illinois Tech. When the program is completed, students will have the skills and competencies employers desire, and that are needed to reach their career potential and achieve their dreams.

All workshops are offered in-person from 12:50-1:45pm in Hermann Hall Room 010. Registration is required via Handshake.

Self Assessment:  Learn your strengths and how to use them! Complete a strengths self-assessment before the workshop. During the session, we will discuss practical applications for workplace success and future career endeavors.  Join us to discuss how to use your strengths in the workplace for optimal performance, to help guide your career path, and to attain job satisfaction.

Resume Efficiency: Create your resume to stand out from the employers' perspective and their job description. Focus on your results / accomplishments, focus on your reader being extremely busy, only resonating with relevant info that they want.10/25 11/1
Communication Skills: Explore various communication forms and strategies, from face-to-face interactions to digital messaging. This workshop is focused on the different forms of communication, etiquette, and communicating effectively. We will cover best practices for effective communication that can be used for working on a class presentation or project, speaking at a meeting, crafting an email, or engaging in everyday conversations.9/13 10/11 11/22
Career Strategy: People get people hired. The U.S. is a highly referral-based market.  The candidate who gets the job is often the most researched and most connected. Learn how to "read the situation," and "make it about them" when you create and nurture business relationships to power up your job search.9/6   11/8
Interview Ready: Whether you are in the application process or you have a interview coming up, how prepared and confident are you in the interview? In this workshop we will cover the basic etiquettes of an interview all the way to how an employer may make a hiring decision on you with a interview scorecard. 9/20   10/4 11/15

*This comprehensive program is designed to teach you to apply new professional development skills to your career journey. In keeping with our vision to model career success and expectations in your future professional endeavors, we expect you to be on time and participate in all activities and program requirements. If you are more than 10 minutes late to any workshop, you will not be able to participate and will be asked to register for another session.
