Faculty and Staff

In collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs, the Office of Community Standards would like to provide trainings for faculty and staff about supporting students and their families at Illinois Tech.

Responding to Students in Distress

At universities across the country, undergraduate and graduate students are entering the campuses with different issues that may impact their student success. This workshop will provide you with information about how to respond to students who are in distress or exhibiting distressing/disrupting behavior. The workshop will review strategies to help you respond to a student in distress and will outline appropriate response protocols and provide you with an understanding of how personally and when to respond to a student in distress or crisis (including how and when to refer the student to another campus resource).
