The Academic Year 2024-2025 housing application is still open, but automatic room selection has ended. Once students complete the Academic Year 2024-2025 housing application, they should email housing@iit.edu for manual placement.
This application is for students looking to secure housing for the 2024-2025 academic year鈥擣all 2024 and Spring 2025. To access the Academic Year 2024-2025 housing application, please click and log in to the StarRez Housing portal (with the Student SSO option) using your Illinois Tech username and password.
Please note that Illinois Tech is at high occupancy, all room types are subject to availability, and student preferences will be met whenever possible, but not guaranteed.

Important Dates
June 1, 2024 - $600 Prepayment submitted with applications is no longer refundable, and forfeit should a student cancel their housing and meal plan contract. Additional $600 fee applies to cancellations.
August 12, 2024 - Fall 2024 move-in to the residence halls commences. Additional $600 fee + daily prorated amount of room cost + weekly prorated amount of meal plan cost applies to cancellations.
August 15, 2024 - Returning students are encouraged to begin arrivals to the residence halls.
August 31, 2024 - Last date for meal plan downgrade adjustment for residents/cancellation of commuter meal plans. Weekly meal plan proration amount applies.
September 1, 2024 - Students responsible for 100% of Fall 2024 housing and meal contract.
October 6, 2024 - Last day for Fall 2024 Only housing and meal plan contract conversion requests.
October 7, 2024 - Students responsible for 100% of Fall 2024 housing and meal contract.
December 8, 2024 12PM noon - Fall 2024 semester housing contract ends. Students with a Spring 2025 housing and meal plan contract may continue to reside in residence halls over winter break with no additional cost.
Students graduating in Fall 2024 may request to stay in their residence hall rooms until December 15, 2024 at noon (to allow them to participate in degree conferral.) at no additional charge by completing a . Students not returning to the residence halls for Spring 2025 may also request a late departure by completing a . Please note that for students who do not have a Spring 2025 housing contract and wish to stay in their room beyond the end of the Fall 2024 housing contract date (12/08/2024 at noon), or students who are graduating and wish to stay in their room past the graduation departure date (12/15/2024 at noon) there will be a $45 per day charge. Student may be asked to move to a temporary room depending on the length of stay requested, and requests spanning beyond 12/21/2024 may not be approved, subject to availability. The submission date for late departure requests is 12/01/2024.
