Flexible Spending

Wageworks/Health Equity

The Healthcare Flexible Spending (FSA) program permits employees to use pre-tax dollars to pay for up to $3,300 in 2025 in out-of-pocket medical, dental, vision and hearing care not covered by insurance. Employees enrolled in the HDHP medical plan may only open a limited purpose Healthcare FSA, meaning they may only use Healthcare FSA elections for dental and vision expenses.

Through the Dependent Care FSA program, employees may also use pre-tax dollars to pay for up to $5,000 in dependent (child and elder) daycare expenses.

Employees may enroll in either or both program on the first day of the month after hire and again during the annual Open Enrollment period.  Employees may enroll in Health- and/or Dependent Care FSA even if they waive medical benefits through the university. Employees must reenroll during Open Enrollment each year they wish to participate.

New hires or those who haven鈥檛 registered with WageWorks previously will need to do so in order to enroll in Flexible Spending or Commuter benefits. New hires will receive a notification from HR that their account has been established, after which they can register by following these instructions. If you鈥檝e registered previously but do not remember your login credentials, please visit WageWorks and use the Forgot Username/Password links.
