GSAC also serves to represent the graduate student body of MMAE and address its unique concerns by seeking innovative solutions.

WiSTEM was founded in July 2020 by a group of women who felt that Illinois Tech lacked a community of women in STEM. They wanted to create such a community on campus and encourage more of these populations to pursue studies in STEM related majors.

Illinois Tech Motorsports, the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) chapter at Illinois Institute of Technology, offers students of all majors the opportunity to gain real-life experience designing, building, and promoting a competitive electric Formula SAE race car. By demonstrating team-oriented performance on the racetrack and in the garage, theoretical knowledge meets interdisciplinary skills. Through this, they aim to ensure and exceed the university’s and partners’ expectations.

Illinois Tech Rocketry (ITR)

Illinois Tech Rocketry (ITR) is an organization on campus which specializes in designing and fabricating high powered rockets. They have developed rockets with the capability to launch up to 30 thousand feet in the air, competed at the largest rocketry competition in the world, and build rockets that are fabricated from scratch. Our members also have the opportunity to build their own 5-thousand-foot apogee rockets to earn their level one and two rocketry certifications. In addition to this, ITR hosts a variety of professional development and industry exposure events to prepare our members to be competitive applicants in the aerospace industry. We welcome and encourage students from all backgrounds and majors to join us!

National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)

Founded in 1975, the National Society of Black Engineers is the world's premier organization supporting black engineers. Its mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community. NSBE is now embraced by the nearly 30,000 active members of all backgrounds. This growth has been facilitated by the offerings in leadership training, professional and scholastic development, mentoring opportunities, community service programs, and scholarship.
