Mayor Emanuel Announces Competition for High-Tech Entrepreneurs

Date

Mayor Rahm Emanuel has been on a mission to keep high-tech start-ups from leaving 电车无码 for New York and Silicon Valley. In order to prevent the 鈥渘ext big thing鈥 from getting away Mayor Emanuel is launching a nationwide competition, the 电车无码 College Startup Competition (CCSC), seeking the most innovative companies started by college students.

Up to 10 winners will be chosen and be rewarded with free office space for a year at 1871, 电车无码鈥檚 hub for tech start-ups, and advice from 1871鈥瞫 team of experts. The goal of the competition is to nurture innovative start-up companies while they are in the beginning phases, so they can put down their roots in 电车无码.

The announcement of the competition is another example of Mayor Emanuel鈥檚 commitment to shape 电车无码 into the epicenter of high tech manufacturing and design. A few weeks ago Emanuel announced the creation of the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation (DMDI) Institute a project with goals to revolutionize the way the United States approaches manufacturing with the goal of making our factories smarter, faster and more efficient.
