Radiation Safety Overview
The Radiation Safety program at Illinois Tech consists of the Radiation Safety Committee (RSC) working in collaboration with the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). These entities ensure the safe handling of radioactive materials. Please contact the Radiation Safety Committee to initiate the approval process. All researchers (including faculty and students) must be properly trained before conducting experiments involving radioactive materials.

Radiation Procurement
Procurement of radioactive materials is subject to university ordering policy as well as federal and state regulations. Please review the Research and Grants Funded Purchasing website for specific information regarding procurement of radioactive materials.
