More in Office of the Provost

As the chief academic officer, the provost and senior vice president for academic affairs has responsibility for furthering Illinois Institute of Technology’s academic mission by providing leadership and support that enables the personal and intellectual growth of all members of our academic community, including students, faculty, and staff. All colleges and schools, the university’s research portfolio, university-level institutes, professional education activities, and technology services report to the provost.

The Office of the Provost also oversees academic and budgetary policy and priorities, including administering the budgets of all reporting units; ensures the quality of the student body; and maintains educational excellence. In addition, it has oversight responsibility for recruiting, hiring, and the advancement of faculty and academic administrators and for the university’s promotion and tenure of its faculty. Finally, the Office of the Provost spearheads strategic academic initiatives meant to enhance the intellectual and personal growth of all campus constituencies.

These efforts and initiatives are driven by a dedicated and talented team of academic and administrative leaders, including deans, vice provosts, and key faculty and professional staff who are committed to furthering Illinois Tech in its mission as an opportunity engine for all and a beacon of inclusive excellence and impact.
